Overview

The story takes us back to the arrival of the First Fleet, the convicts and the very beginnings of our nation, Australia. It explores what we know of our Welsh history. Experience the drama of the trial of John Williams when he was sentenced to transportation "beyond the seas."

As you read the story you will discover that relatives of our family will be found in Australia, Wales and in the USA.

It is also interesting to note the children of this family being born now are eighth generation Australian. Only our Aboriginal brothers & sisters can be more Australian than that.

Purpose of this Site.

Before commencing the story I think I should let you know the purpose of this site. It is to place on record what is known of our family history. It is for the information of immediate Williams family members, their friends and future generations of our family.

Also, it is hoped travellers in cyberspace who happen to land at this site may be able to contribute constructively to increase our knowledge of the family. Hopefully, it may just help some in their research too.

I must acknowledge the work the late Joyce Watmuff (nee Williams). I wrote the story you read here from papers, letters, documents & news clips etc she gathered over years of research into our family background.
