Musical Aptitude Indicator (MAI)The SIM Musical Aptitude Indicator has been sent to all schools involved in the SIM program. This tool has replaced the Arnold Bentley Measures of Musical Abilities test that has been used for many years. The Bentley test, while having served its purpose, has many flaws and the Musical Aptitude Indicator has been developed to address these flaws and fulfil the specific needs of Western Australian schools. Western Australian government schools can obtain the Musical Aptitude Indicator Kit directly from the School of Instrumental Music, or for more detailed information click here. Instrumental Music Student Journals
A student journal is given to every student in the SIM programme at the commencement of the year's lessons. The instrumental music teacher can monitor and report on the progress of individual students to parents through the journal. Space is also provided in the journal for students and parents to write their own weekly comments. There are 4 different types of journal, catering for different ages and course requirements. | |||||||||||||
