About Kev & Jo

Kevin has 35 years experience farming on the 100 year old family farm, in which he spent some 30 years periodically working and visiting the D'Entrecasteaux National Park. This has given him extensive knowledge of this beautiful area.
Kevin has been involved with horses since a very early age, doing most of his stock-work on horseback and now conducting horseback tours.

Kevin and Jo compete in campdrafting events throughout the state when not managing  their farm in Boyup Brook or guiding riders through the D'Entrecasteaux and Shannon National Parks.

Jo has always been an outdoors person, with a natural love of nature, animals and the bush.  Although she spent most of her youth living and working in the city and several places around Australia, Jo is now happily settled with Kevin on the farm.
Jo has studied, ridden and trained horses most of her life which has given her a great understanding of these animals.

Kevin and Jo, as owners of Shannon Horseback Adventures, organize, run and lead all tours.
Our goal for the tour is to provide you with a safe, enjoyable and  unforgetable adventure
.

Information on D'Entrecasteaux National Park

Situated in the South West corner of Western Australia, bounded by the beautiful blue waters of the Southern Ocean lies 111,800 hectares of pristine National park in which you will see an amazing array of spectacular changing scenery.  Limestone cliffs, giant towering Karri trees, vast areas of Peppermint woodlands, rolling heathlands and giant windswept sand dunes just to mention a few.
The history of this beautiful park dates back to Aboriginal inhabitance of at least 6,700 years ago, more recently throughout the late 1800's cattle grazing during the summer months
Today recreation is the prime aspect of this National Park.  Shannon Horseback Adventures has the exclusive rights to enjoy horseriding through the park
