This is a tribute to the troll of the newsgroups who unfortunately posts
this sort of abuse to aus.hi-fi and aus.electronics far too frequently.

Below are examples of how NOT to impress people on the newsgroups.

First off, let's put a few  things into perspective -

Phil usually succeeds in making the unwary and casual newsgroup reader think he is an all round good guy and local hero.

He posts things like this for example -

" ** Eddie - all my posts are brilliant examples of communication, either on some technical point related to hi-fi or in self defence against unwarranted personal abuse. That this is non obvious to YOU is a comment on your level of awareness."

At first, the casual visitor to the aus.hi-fi or aus.electronics newsgroups might interpret this simple statement as someone trying to explain just how articulate they are at the graceful art of human communication, and is simply defending himself from those who misunderstand him.  Sounds harmless enough - doesn't it?

But very quickly the tone of the conversation starts to take on a less appealing nature, with comments like this -

** No - it is why I am so well respected. I tell the simple truth. You oughta try it sometime arsehole - make a nice change."

Hmmm... Well he could have phrased that a bit better and still got his point across.  What do you think?

Phil at his best (or worst) depending on your point of view -

When Phil has no convincing argument to offer he frequently resorts to these types of comments in his posts.  Foolishly he believes he is being more articulate at convincing the other party or parties that he is completely correct in everything he says, is totally misunderstood and that everybody else is totally wrong. 

These are but a few of Phil's famous posts from the aus.hi-fi and aus.electronics newsgroups in the past month.  They are posted verbatim complete with profanity and grammatical errors.  If you don't want to read them - leave now.
