Some Messages From Our Clients and Colleagues
Dear ****
I would like to begin by saying thank you for the support I have received from Outcare since my release from prison. I don’t think I would have been able to resettle in the community without the assistance I received. I don’t think I would have been paroled either as I didn’t have any accommodation to go to so my situation was pretty bleak.
Trying to settle back into society has been quite difficult after spending nearly 2 years in maximum at Hakea but Outcare has helped make it possible.
I was previously in prison and released in 2001 but without any support I was back in trouble quite quickly and back inside within a month, this time things are different and it’s because Outcare have helped me. I can now get my life on track and stay out of prison and life is starting to feel good.
Once again thank you, I appreciate what Outcare has done for me.
Yours sincerely
Dear Sir/Madam
Over the past 6 months I have had the "misfortune" of visiting my nephew Trevor McDonald at your facility (Hakea Prison).
From the very first phone call to every visit I have made I have nothing but praise for all the staff that I have encountered and observed on these occasions.
As I have worked in the retail industry for over 25 years I know that it is hard to train staff in "customer service" and to give a smile to everyone during the day.
I would like however to congratulate you on your staff, especially the girls that work on the desk at the Family Visitors Centre and if you have an employee award system, could I please nominate them.
They have been very helpful and friendly throughout this time, and I have observed them treat all types of people with the same attitude and compassion.
If you do not have any employee award systems in place, could you please pass on my thanks to these girls, they do an excellent job there under the circumstances.
To all the crew at Outcare, I am writing to you in regards to the Christmas Party which you recently organised at Karnet Prison.
As a first timer in prison I had absolutely no idea what to expect, and also as Christmas approached, it dawned on me that this special time of year was not going to be spent at home with my family and friends.
I must express my sincere thanks in providing the entertainment and gifts for the kids and especially my son, to see the enormous smile and hear his giggles as he enjoyed himself, certainly bought Christmas to me this year.
You are all a "godsend" for struggling blokes in prison and outside in the community, bringing families together, and so very much appreciated.
I'm sure I speak for all the blokes not only here but within other prisons when I say "Thank You", Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
Hopefully I won't see you next year, but keep up the exceptional service you provide.
As you can imagine we all here love and miss our families dearly and it's people like you that gives us hope and makes it that little more easier each day, as we reach the completion of our sentences.
Once again, guys and girls, Thank You so very very much for allowing me to enjoy a day which means so much to me as a father, my sons smile will last me a very long time.
Just wanted to say thank you for all your efforts with my clients. I have just spoken to **** who is really happy about his EDL.
Also spoke to **** who you helped with fines. He has got a car (and got it running) and is very grateful for your assistance.
I wish to express my deepest gratitude for the wonderful work that you carried out at ………. Primary School with our senior students. Your (Outcare’s) programme, Keeping Kids out of Crime, was indeed inspirational. Part of the success was due to your capacity to share your stories with children, in a way which engendered sympathy and understanding without the sentimentality. The other reason for students embracing the concepts you portrayed was that you confronted the children’s notions of bullying and challenged them to reconsider the way in which they maintained relationships with other students.
The teachers who had the privilege at being at your sessions, and I, hope that you will have an ongoing association with our school and hence with our Behaviour Management programme.
Stay well and may your guardian angel always hover nearby.
My very warmest regards
………..
Principal
My name is ……….. from ………. Primary School. Your talk moved me a lot, you weren’t soft like the other people about racism. You were straight to the point and you were excellent. It was awesome and I am glad I got your card because I can talk to you. I feel sorry for your childhood and how you had to grow up with it. The part that makes me think this guys a hero is that you are explaining to us that if we are getting hit at home, if we are getting bullied we can tell some one and not to be afraid and you want us to be safe and not have this stuff and racism around us so that we don’t do it to any one else. Like your protecting us and it was mind-blowing there’s so much to say just I can’t explain it.
Yours sincerely
