Roasting Tumbler and Pan Made Originally for Cooking Chestnuts on an Open Fire

Use a charcoal or heat bead fueled fire to cook on. These are outdoor BBQ gadgets originally intended for roasting Chestnuts.

For Tumbler - place in fireplace or over BBQ and turn handle to cook evenly. When ready allow tumbler to cool before opening and emptying contents. Handle can get hot in process as well.

For Pan - Place directly over open fire or BBQ. Use both handles to support and shake Chestnuts for even cooking throughout.

Chestnuts has been a part of the staple diet of Southern Europe, Turkey and Asia for centuries, and are now gaining popularity in multi-cultural Australia.

Cooking chestnuts is easy and healthy.

Cooking should be over medium heat and will take around 20-30 minutes or until the shell starts to peal away from the nut.

Chestnuts are best in Australia between April and June but can be found in shops well after the season has ended.
