Instant musical theatre, just add
title… Improvised comedy gets a
song and dance routine in Sydney's first-ever improvised musical! Eight of Sydney's hottest
improvisers perform a Broadway-style musical inspired solely on the
BLANK filled in the audience. It's a show with all the
melody, harmony, fun and feeling of a regular stage musical… sans script
and score. In one hour, the talented
cast combines the spontaneity and hilarity audiences love from
improvised comedy shows such as Theatresports®, or TV favourites Thank
God You're Here and Whose Line is it Anyway?, with the musical
pizzazz of a Broadway musical. They're singin' on the
edge!
After a wildly successful debut run of sold-out shows at
Coogee Arts Festival,
the inaugural
Twisted Melon Impro Festival, and
Cracker Comedy Festival, BLANK the Musical hit the road for the inaugural BrizImprovFest. It then made a triumphant return to its hometown with a successful season at The Old Fitzroy Theatre
and a special show at fortnightly improv institution,
Full Body Contact No Love Tennis. BLANK is the launch
production for Blank Slate and is produced in association with
Twisted Melon. Twisted Melon's past productions include the
hilarious Cracker Comedy Festival revue,
Barrel of Monkeys, and the Old Fitzroy Theatre smash-hit improvised play,
Like There's No Tomorrow. They're also responsible for Sydney's
first-ever improvisation festival
Twisted Melon Impro Festival.
