aeries, Eleves and Dragons is an area I've set up to display some of my less
embarrassingly bad pictures of these type of things. (Yes, I know not everything here is
a faerie, elf or dragon, but you get my drift) I've always loved "Fantasy" type
art and literature (and computer games). Reading books from The Lord of the Rings, to
David Eddings Belgariad and Mallorean series, and playing computer role playing games
such as those in the Ultima series have furthered my fondness for these realms of
fantasy, and provided inspiration.

he pictures linked from this page were all drawn by myself, over the last few years. Most
were done during my last few years at university and the period after I graduated and began
looking for a job. I'm afraid I have never had any instruction in drawing or painting (not
even in high school) and it shows in what I draw in lack of consistancy due to an absence of
technique, and also in the fact that many of the pictures I draw are incomplete. ie. I get
to the stage where I think "Well that doesn't look too crap. I better stop before I
screw it up."
encil and charcoal are kind mediums for the untrained, which is why I
prefer them. I have promised myself that one day I will summon up the courage to try to
transfer one of my pencil sketches to oil on canvas. One day...
rtists in the fantasy field who I admire and may inadvertantly imitate (like a flea imitating
a Great Dane) include: Boris Vallejo, Michael Whelan, Arthur Suydam, Patrick Woodroffe, and Brian Froud and Alan Lee,
although in sketching I most admire Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci. Their technique and knowledge
are unsurpassed. Weird mix of styles? Well, I like what I like. Never heard of some or any of them?
Look for them! They're great!

Soon I will set up a links page with many more links to fantasy art, story and fan sites on the web. For now, these links are to the home pages of people who have given me much appreciated, and very kind support. (There have been many others who just don't have web pages, and my thanks to you also)
