The South West Phoenix FC are a South West Region Football Club that provides a development pathway for players within the South West Region. With the South West we have a vibrant women's competition with many talented players. We have asked the Country Women's Soccer Association to look at putting a women's team into the metro comp under the banner of SW Phoenix.

It has been discussed at board level that it would be great for the region for a Women's Carnival to be played in Bunbury over a weekend. At this stage the format would be 16 teams, split into four divisions, with the top team from each division playing a semi-final with the winners playing in a final. It is proposed that each half would be 30 minutes. At this stage we are looking at the 25 and 26th of October 2008. We are looking at providing trophies, shield and monetary prizes for the winners or a combination of the three. It is proposed to be an open competition, however this will depend on responses.

Should anybody be interested please contact John McCleary on 0423 003 359 or via email at jlm@wn.com.au
