Back

Family:
Want to meet my family? In this picture you’ll see my Mum, Dad, brother and of course yours truly .
Dad LOVES to fish. He'll spend hours down at the beach throwing his line in. He often pulls some fantastic fish like this Mulloway. My beautiful God-daughter, Georgia with her sister, Bianca and her Dad (my mate, Steve). (Georgia is the one wearing the dress that her Uncle Pete bought her for Xmas!)
Here's my brother. He makes me so proud. I just wanna get get close to him every time I see him. Does he look nervous? Matty Boy 1...and...Matty Boy 2
In 2005 I was thrilled when my cousin, Gundula, came to visit us. She is German and is one of the only other "Humbert's" we get to see. I hope she comes back for another visit soon. I think this shot of Gundula and my Mum is a real candidate for a photography prize (shame I didn't shoot it!)

Friends
I am very blessed to have such great friends. Here's a great shot of my best mate ("brother from another mother") Steve Lorimer and myself.
We had a few drinks one night and got to talking about 80s bands and the way they use to 'pout' on all of their album covers. My mates Paul B and Paul R and myself had a few too many one night and decided to impersonate the 'look' and 'feel' of those infamous 80's bands. The outcome was quite disturbing... I'm sure you'll get a laugh. Even Libby got into the act!!
We often catch up with Ron adn Simone for a wonderful meal. I shot this one last time we all got together.
Of course there are always the Army mates. Here's a picture taken at my school's ANZAC assembly in 2005. Left to right... Ron "Dutchy", "Monty", Myself and Shane "Flash" (Don't you just love those Army nicknames?!
My good mate "Diver" Dave Marshall is a fanatical spearfisherman. He has a boat and we sometimes go free-diving between Garden Island and Rottnest in search of big fish. Dave is a great shot as you can see. Myself, on the other hand, well, I am still learning (but slowly getting the hang of it!) Free-diving is great fun and really gets the adrenalin working over-time.

Digital Media
Forest Gump: Now I really must be completely honest here. I have never met Tom Hanks nor played any role in any of his movies. This is actually part of a university assignment I did. We were asked to find two photographs. One of a reasonably famous image and one of ourselves. We were then asked to merge the two images together. The result you can see for yourself. I have printed out a good copy of this, placed it inside a video box cover and left it laying around the house for visitors to see. You'd be surprised as to some of the reactions I get. (Usually depending on how gullible the house guest is!)

My House

My house: AKA my castle in Karrinyup. Well, this is my castle. It may not look like much but it is home for my brother and I. It's in the suburb of Karrinyup. The beach is only about a 10 minute bike ride from here. There is a huge shopping centre no more than a 6 min walk away (Karrinyup Shopping Centre). Lake Gwellup is just around the corner and is great for a quiet walk, run or ride around (I wouldn't swim in it though!) Right now I’ve got grandiose plans to knock them both down and build four or five new apartments on the land. (Anyone lend me a few hundred thousand?! J)

Army stuff:

My best mate and his lovely wife, Rachelle.

Here’s a picture taken the day before we left for our recent deployment in Malaysia.

I had this one taken of Steve, Ron and myself outside RAAF Butterworth (Malaysia).

I’d like to put a few more snaps up here but some bugger stole my bloody camera while we were in Singapore. If he is ready this I’d like him to know that the camera was covered in dirty, filthy stinking germs.

American Me!!!
I recently had an interesting Email from the USA. The Email was from somebody I have never met before in my life, but who, is very much the same as myself. As you may have noticed on my Front Page I ask people who "stumble" across this site to Email me and let me know how they found it. The person in question was kind enough to do just that. He lives in Phoenix Arizona, loves listening to Queensryche Alice Cooper and a bunch of other bands that I follow. Rather eerily, he mentioned that he also liked Rush... coincidentally, you'd never guess what I was listening to as I read his Email... RUSH!! I thought that was pretty spooky, but it got even weirder... he said that he had found the WebSite by typing "Pete Humbert" into a Google search. Now why did he do something like that?... Because HIS name is Pete Humbert too! How cool is that!!
Here's a picture of "the other me" (insert weird, spooky music here!)
BTW Pete is the bigger of the two boys!

Kalgoorlie

Steve, Rach and myself went on a road trip to see my brother, Matt, living in Kalgoorlie. For those of you who have never been there, just conjure up images of desert, desert and more desert (perhaps with a splash of the outback thrown in for good measure!) Great place to visit. Lots of old ghost towns out this way that once supported thousands of people. It amazes me how they survived as there is very little water out there. I am proud to say that my Grandma, Francis Harapeet (now deceased) was born out there in 1903. Tough times!

26ers
I belong to a special group as the 26ers. For many years, on Boxing day we have hired a huge spa, bought heaps of booze (and soft drink of course!) and invaded the nominated persons backyard for the entire day. Every year has a theme to it and the 26ers all and invited guests come dressed accordingly. Some of the themes we have had over the years have included, Mexican, Roman, Hawaiian and Porn Star (Boogie Nights). We had nine consecutive years of Boxing Day fun and we are hoping to continue our tradition once more this year. Here’s some shots from one of the Boxing events held at my place in Karrinyup (1999 I think) I will be holding another Boxing Day Spectacular in 2006. We are going with a Superheroes and Villans theme. Check the video promo I put together on YouTube. Click Here
