NEW SHOW - CAPITANO SPACCA-ZUCCHINI - commedia characters demontrated

Follows the fortunes of our hero Capitano Spacca-Zucchini in his desperate attempt to save the kingdom from famine, fire and foul monsters. Meet Pulcinella his starving servant, Pantalone the greedy treasurer, bumbling Dottore, wise maid Columbina, and others. Presents the complete range of commedia actors craft from noble emotion to market place humour - includes music and song. Italian vocabulary and audience interaction.

IL FRUTTO MAGICO! audience participation to the max!

Using Traditional Italian masks, folk music, puppets, and outrageous props. Two crazy storytellers present this hilarious modern retelling of a medieval story of a spoilt, smelly prince (cursed by the Fairy Witch Fata Morgana) and his quest to find the magical fruit. Along the way he learns to enjoy his new found passion for dancing and enjoying his life. Using lots of audience participation and repetitive use of Italian vocabulary, the performance builds to a grand finale with everyone clapping and dancing the Tarantella.

Meet the characters of the Commedia dell’Arte; agile Arlecchino, lazy Pulcinella, blustering Capitano, miserly Pantalone, pompous Dottore, the swooning Sweethearts, and others. Learn historical background and social context of early theatre as you laugh, watch skits, followed by question and answer session, time permitting.

MUSICA! MUSICA!- be entertained as you learn,join in some songs + movements

Take your class on an entertaining musical tour of Italy, as two Italian village street singers play a variety of traditional instruments. Explore the sounds and strange stories of Italian folk music, from the passionate rhythms of the Tarantella to the haunting harmonies of the mountain songs of the north-festive carnival songs from the village piazza of the last century!
